Ellie has over 30 years’ experience in the Public Relations industry. She has crafted and executed Public Relations campaigns for clients in the financial, non-profit, social services, food and beverage, hospitality, health care and legal industries, among others. Ellie founded her own firm in 2002 and in 2017 also served as the Vice-President of Communications at NOLA Media Group (The Times-Picayune and nola.com.)
She is known as a creative leader, crafting and executing multi-level Public Relations campaigns that involve a variety of tactics, including news media placement and publicity, partnerships, crisis communications, advertising, community outreach, special events and social media management. Ellie has a network of accomplished marketing specialists she calls on to meet client needs in the areas of web site development, advertising creative and production, social media execution and media buying. Ellie is admired for her ability to build widespread awareness for her clients while meeting marketing and sales goals.
She began her career in the book world, first serving as an editorial assistant to the late Hunter S. Thompson and, later, at Simon & Schuster. Ellie holds a Master of Mass Communication from L.S.U.’s Manship School of Mass Communication and a B.A. in English from Newcomb College. She is a guest lecturer in the Communications Departments at both Loyola and Tulane Universities.
