Founder Ellie Rand has over 20 years experience in the communications industry. Prior to opening Brands by Rand, Ellie worked as a Senior Public Relations Strategist and Account Executive at other full-service agencies. She began her career in Aspen, Colorado, where she was an editorial assistant to the author Hunter S. Thompson.

From there, she became a Book Publicist for Simon & Schuster, a newswriter for a CBS affiliate, Communications Director for the Southeast Louisiana Girl Scout Council and served as the Director of Marketing and Admissions for her alma mater, The Louise S. McGehee School.

Ellie holds a M.A. in Mass Communications from Louisiana State University and has won numerous industry awards, including a Silver Anvil. She is also a strong writer whose personal essays have appeared in The Tampa – St. Pete Times and other publications.
